FreeTube

I'm envisioning 0.6.0 to take a little longer due to some rewriting that will be done. Because of this, I'd like to tidy up the current release to have as few issues as possible to keep everyone content until 0.6.0 comes around. This is a small release however there are some small features included to make the upgrade worth it.

Matrix Server Changes

I'm changing the way the Matrix server is structured by a little bit. Take a look at the dedicated blog post to learn more about it.

NewPipe Subscriptions Import

Thanks to @kskarthik for the contribution. You can now import your NewPipe subscriptions file into FreeTube. Use the existing import subscriptions button and point it to your NewPipe export file.

Region Selection

There's a new option to select your region in the settings menu. This will change what shows up in your trending page. The current default is set to US. This has no effect on the rest of the application at this time.

Usability Changes

There are also some small usability changes that have been made to improve on user experience:

• An issue has has been fixed where sometimes a video will play and show information from a previous video that was watched.
• An issue with history showing a lot of API errors has been fixed.
• Fixed the back button coloring when using the dark theme
